Garlic, Parmesan, milk, and warm broth become a silky Alfredo-style sauce suited to chicken, fish, or tender vegetables. Mara keeps it smooth and leaves heaviness at the door.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups skim milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth, warmed
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Next, in a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Stir in garlic and sauté until fragrant.

    Stir in flour and mix well until thick paste is formed. Next, slowly whisk in warmed chicken broth.

    Stir in milk, salt and pepper. Continue cooking over low heat until smooth and thick.
