Hearthstone Bean Mash
Refried Bean Bowl
Creamy pinto beans, cumin, and a little lime make a sturdy bowl with more character than its humble appearance suggests. Bramble recommends guarding the cheese from Pip.

Ingredients
- Olive oil spray
- 1 can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 1/4 teaspoon each garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, onion powder
- Optional low-fat cheese or fat-free sour cream
Directions

Coat a skillet with olive oil spray and warm over medium heat.

Sauté the rinsed beans for 1–2 minutes.

Add the broth and seasonings and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat and cook for 3–5 minutes, until the liquid is reduced by half.

Cool slightly and blend until completely smooth.

Divide into eight 1/4-cup portions.
