Mara’s Watchfire Buffalo Chicken Dip

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Mara keeps the watchfire warm with finely shredded chicken, Greek yogurt, and a measured spark of buffalo sauce. This is a regular-food recipe; chicken must be moist and very finely shredded, and heat or dairy may not suit every stomach.

1/3 cup
Texture
Creamy with very fine chicken shreds

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 4 ounces Neufchâtel cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup buffalo-style hot sauce, or less to tolerance
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded very finely
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles, optional
  • 2 green onions, minced very finely, optional and only when tolerated

Directions

  1. 1

Heat the oven to 350 °F and lightly coat a small baking dish.

  2. 2

Stir the yogurt, softened Neufchâtel, and hot sauce until smooth.

  3. 3

Fold in the finely shredded chicken, breaking up every dry or long strand.

  4. 4

Spread the mixture in the dish, add the cheddar, and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until hot throughout and the cheese has melted.

  5. 5

Add the optional blue cheese and green onion only when both are cleared. Measure a 1/3-cup serving and eat slowly; refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
