Bramble’s Red Pepper Trail Hummus
Red Pepper Protein Hummus
Bramble brightens hummus with roasted pepper and an unflavored protein powder for the trail—or, more realistically, the table nearest the comfortable chairs. Be mindful of the Chickpea skins, pepper, tahini, and protein powder.

Ingredients
- 2 cups canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup roasted red pepper, drained and chopped
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 4 tablespoons tahini
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup parsley leaves, optional and only when tolerated
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 serving unflavored complete protein powder approved by your care team
Directions

Put all ingredients in a food processor or high-speed blender.

Process for 1 to 2 minutes, scraping the bowl, until completely smooth with no chickpea skin, pepper, herb, or powder pockets.

Add water 1 teaspoon at a time only if needed for the texture your care team approved.

For a purée-stage serving, press the hummus through a fine-mesh strainer and discard every remaining particle.

Measure a 1/3-cup serving, or the smaller portion directed by your care team, and refrigerate leftovers promptly.
